Tree Cutting Ceremony

Two years ago, we formed a "garden committee" to look into designating a special place near the school to grow and nurture plants, flowers, and critters, and to have a quiet place to enjoy nature.  Last year, we received our first grant to help with our efforts, and we used the money for two Autumn Fantasy trees, which will grow to be 50-60 feet tall!

The purchase and planting of these trees were made possible by a grant from the Lenawee County Education Foundation, and local resident and Sand Creek alum, Mike Coon, who matched the LCEF grant.  Coon donated one of the trees and his nursery services by planting and caring for the trees this summer.
