To: K-12 parents and all employees

Good afternoon, this is Steve Laundra, Superintendent at Sand Creek Community Schools.  Due to today’s water line break and a septic system issues, Sand Creek Junior/Senior High School will be closed tomorrow, Wednesday, October 2nd.  That stated, none of these issues have negatively affected anything at Ruth McGregor Elementary School and so our elementary school will be in session for a full day of school tomorrow, including normal school bus service.

The Sand Creek High School Marching Band will be participating in tonight’s Lenawee County Marching Band Festival at Adrian College, and they will be holding their planned potluck dinner at 5:15pm tonight at the outdoor pavilion behind the high school.  Bottled water will be provided for the dinner.  The restrooms in our high school gymnasium facility are on a different system than the rest of the school, so they will be available to our band and to our high school football teams that are practicing at 3:30pm.  Also, homecoming court pictures have been rescheduled for Thursday morning at 7:45am.

We can chalk today’s unfortunate situation up to a building that’s nearly 100 years old.  Thank you for your patience and understanding in this regard and have a nice rest of the evening.
