Varsity Baseball Recap 4/23 Swanton, OH 7 Sand Creek 0 Caden Glinski took the loss on the mound pitching 4 innings. Reid Hulett, Jared Snyder, and Noah Czerniejewski all pitched a scoreless inning. Offensively Ivan Wilkinson was 2-3 with a double Jared Snyder and Carter Bettcher each had a hit. Sand Creek is 7-3 on the season and play at Hanover Horton with a DH starting at 4pm on Thursday.

Softball The lady Aggies dropped a pair to Dundee on Thursday losing 6 to 0 in game 1 and 17 to 1 in game 2. The Aggies were held hitless in game 1. Makenna Wheeler had another strong outing on the mound giving up no earned runs and striking out 7. In game 2, the Aggies had hits from Maddie Osburn, Wheeler, Erin Alexander and Makayla Six. Alexander drove in Wheeler for the lone run and Six recorded her first varsity hit.

The lady Aggies' softball team picked up a couple of wins against Quincy yesterday in two 5 inning games. In game 1 the Aggies scored 2 in the bottom of the first and held on for a 2 to 1 win. Maddie Osburn and Makenna Wheeler scored the runs. Carley Allen and Erin Alexander had a hit a piece. Wheeler picked up the win in the circle giving up 1 run on 5 hits and 8 strikeouts. The Aggies escaped a one out bases loaded jam in the bottom of the 5th when Wheeler struck out the #3 hitter and Osburn picked off the runner at third. In game 2, Osburn led the Aggies offensively with 3 hits and 3 RBI’s. Lily Hawkins added a hit and scored 3 runs. Allen and Alexander added a hit and 2 runs a piece. Hawkins picked up the win going 4 innings with no runs and no hits and 7 strikeouts.

Ivan Wilkinson started on the mound giving up 1 run with 6 strikeouts. Offensively, Ivan Wilkinson was 2-2 with 2 RBIs with a solo HR. Reid Hulett was 2-2 with 3 RBIs. Andon Sutherland was 2-4 with 2 runs scored. Carter Bettcher was 2-3 Game 2 Sand Creek 4 Morenci 3 Reid Hulett got the win on the mound pitching 5 1/3 innings giving up 2 runs with 9 strikeouts. Andon Sutherland pitched 1 2/3 innings giving up a run and had 2 strikeouts. Offensively,Ivan Wilkinson was 2-3 with 2 runs scored with a double and RBI. Carter Bettcher was 2-3 with a RBI. Dane Morrin had 2 runs scored . Jared Snyder added a RBI. Sand Creek is 6-1 (4-0 TCC) Next game is Saturday at the Union City Tournament

The Varsity Aggie Softball picked up two big wins against Morenci winning game one 3 to 2 and game two 7 to 2. In game one Maddie Osburn hit a two run home run to stake the Aggies to a 2 to 0 lead. But the big hit was Jalyn Snyder who hit a 2 out walk off single in the bottom of the 7th inning. Makenna Wheeler pitched a gem in the circle giving up 2 runs, 1 earned, on 5 hits and 15 strikeouts. In game 2, Snyder got the win in the circle give up 2 runs on 5 hits with 7 strikeouts. Offensively Wheeler was 3 for 4 with 2 RBI’s, Carley Allen added 1 hit, 2 RBI’s and 2 runs scored. Erin Alexander and Maddie Osburn had 2 hits and 1 run scored a piece each. Alexander and Makayla Six had key catches in the outfield defensively.

The Aggies lost a close one to Hudson in their first golf match of the season. The guys played well. The Aggies were led by Jonathan Fisher with a 45, Noah Hassenzahl shot 48, Calen Czerniejewski shot 51 and Cole Scharer, Jordan Hassenzahl and Aidan Walsh all shot 53. We were also able to take some extra golfers with us who got some valuable experience, so well done to Caleb Luck, Austin Frey, Dominik Glinski and Gavin Eack.
