Lifetouch Picture Day for the Jr./Sr. high school is next Wednesday, September 6th. Watch for the picture packet to come home with your student today.

The JV football game originally scheduled for tonight at Quincy has been rescheduled. The game will now be held at Sand Creek on Friday, August 25th at 5:00. The varsity football game vs. Quincy will follow the JV game.

UPDATE Due to excessive heat, Meet the Teams for tonight has been cancelled and rescheduled for Monday August 28 from 6:30 - 8:00. The varsity cross country meet for today has been cancelled, practice will be 3-4:15. JH cross country practice is cancelled for today. The parent meeting will be at 5:00 in the cafeteria on Monday, August 28th. JV and V football will practice tonight at 8:00. The JV football game at Quincy will be held at 7:30 tomorrow night. The JH football team will practice tonight at 3:00 and on Friday from 4:30-6:00 and the parent meeting will be on Monday, August 28th at 6:00 at the pavilion.

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT: Due to the extreme heat expected tomorrow, Thursday August 24th, we will be moving to a half day of school. Jr/Sr HS students will be released at 11:30am and elementary students will be released at 11:45am. Please contact your building principal with any questions.

VACANT SEAT ON THE SAND CREEK BOARD OF EDUCATION Effective September 1, 2023 Pursuant to section 311 of Michigan’s Election Law, MCL 168.311(1), the Sand Creek Community Schools Board of Education is accepting written notice from qualified, interested and registered electors of Sand Creek Community Schools wishing to be appointed to serve on the Sand Creek Community Schools Board of Education. Written notice and required materials must be submitted no later than 3:00 p.m. (EST) on Friday, August 11, 2023, to the Sand Creek Board of Education, Attn: Sharon Smith, Superintendent, 6518 Sand Creek Hwy. Sand Creek, Michigan 49279, or via email to sharon.smith@sc-aggies.us. Applicants must submit the following materials to be considered for appointment: • Written letter of interest submitted to the Superintendent by the deadline (see above). • A few lines of introduction, a brief bio, and motivation for applying for the open board seat should be included in the letter. • Proof that the applicant is a current registered voter in the Sand Creek Community Schools district. • The board may request interested applicants to attend a special board meeting on Monday, August 14th. The Sand Creek Board of Education will review applicant materials received and reserves the right to interview select candidates to ascertain their qualifications. Appointment by the board to fill this vacancy shall be made by a majority vote of the full board on August 21, 2023 with the effective date of the appointment on September 1, 2023. The individual appointed by the Sand Creek Board of Education to fill the vacancy on the Sand Creek Schools Board of Education shall file an acceptance of office and hold office only until a successor is elected at the next general November election in the manner provided by law. The term would end December 31, 2024. If the vacancy is not filled within thirty (30) days after it occurs, the Board of the Intermediate School District shall fill the vacancy by appointment.
