The JV boys carved out another victory on Thursday night defeating SC's largest rival, the Morenci Bulldogs. The final score was 51-34. The boys were all go in the first half putting up 35 points in just 14 minutes of game time. Landon Carmody came to life last night besting his season high with 24 points while also ripping 5 steals. The team kept turnovers low and remained in single digits giving the ball away just 9 times all night. Parker Strahan marked a personal season high for rebounds in the contest pulling down 10 boards. The boys try and avenge a loss from earlier this season when they face Whiteford on Tuesday night at Sand Creek. With the season winding down there are only a few opportunities remaining to come support the hard work that the boys have put in, please joins us at 5:30 on Tuesday.

The boy's varsity basketball team won a closely contested game against the Morenci Bulldogs on Parents' Night Thursday evening by the score of 47 - 44. The Aggies took a 10 point lead at halftime by playing great defense only to see Morenci battle back to take the lead late in the game by hitting some timely 3 point shots. With the score tied and 11 seconds left, the Senior Aggies called a timeout for a play to free up Andon Sutherland who hit a game winning 3 point shot at the buzzer to lift Sand Creek to the victory. The game featured Senior Rory Eack scoring his 1,000 point early in the 3rd quarter and he also lead the team in scoring with 28 points that featured him making 20 free throws. The Aggies were supported by Andon Sutherland with 8 points including the game winner, Caleb Luck added 6 points and 8 rebounds. This was an outstanding team win with the defense playing a key role in securing the victory along with only committing 8 turnovers.

On Wednesday, the varsity wrestling team traveled to South Lyon to compete. South Lyon East 60 - Sand Creek 24 Dexter 66 - Sand Creek 14 Going 2-0 on the night for the Aggies were Nich Trame at 120 and Tommy Shanks at 138.

The 7th Grade Girls basketball team improved their record to 2-1 with an overtime win at Britton Deerfield Wednesday night. Maddie Plank led the Aggies with 6 points. Cooper Robinson chipped in 4 points and Indica Steiner-Zehender scored 3 points in overtime to seal the victory. The 8th grade team lost a highly competitive game with a score of 13-19. Brielle Nichelson was the high scorer with 7 points and Delaney Eack had 4 points. Allie Scharer pulled down some key rebounds as well. The Aggies next game is away on Monday against LCS.

The JV boys carved out another road win in a high scoring contest vs BD on Tuesday night. An offensive battle and slow defense on both ends led this game to be a entertaining dual with 135 combined total points being lit up on the scoreboard. The final score ending at 74-61. The defense on both ends was sloppy at times leading to 37 combined fouls being whistled. Landon Carmody led the way with his season high scoring effort putting 20 points in the book while going an impressive 10/10 from the free throw line. Grady Hazelwood added 13 points. Silas Daniels cleaned up the boards with 9 rebounds. The boys varsity basketball team lost on the road to a hot shooting B/D team 87-58. Down 21-14 after 1 quarter, the Aggies could not catch up as Britton Deerfield scored 25 & 22 points in the middle quarters. Leading the Aggies in scoring was Rory Eack with 22 points & Cole Scharer with 15 points. The team is back in action on Thursday against Morenci for parents' night.

On Tuesday night the varsity girls basketball team lost a hard fought and very physical game to Britton Deerfield by a score of 29-27. Payton Steinke led all scorers with 11 points. Good defensive performances were tuned in by Erin Alexander and Elise Wilkinson.

The junior high girls basketball team traveled to Summerfield on Monday night and lost two hard fought competitions. The 7th grade team lost 21-12. Cooper Robinson and Maddie Plank each had 4 points for the Aggies. The 8th grade team lost 14-9. The leading scorer was Raelynn Steinke with 6 points while Macie Smith chipped in 3 points and had numerous key blocks. The Aggies will look to bounce back on Wednesday as they play at Britton Deerfield.

On January 25th the lady Aggie bowling team took on Britton Deerfield coming home with a win. Bowling high games were Paige Luck with a 154, Rileigh Hoffman with a 123, and Addison Butz with a 122.

On January 24th the JV and varsity boys bowling teams competed against Britton Deerfield. The JV boys had a close match coming up just short. Top bowlers were Logan Underwood with at 171 and a 159, Zach Prater with a 109, and Cassius Kern-Ruesink with a 106. The varsity boys had a tough loss. Bowling high games were Jonathan Fisher with a 187 and a 162 and Wyett Rutledge with a 209.

The JV boys basketball team improved their record on Friday night with a road win vs league rival LCS. Being worn down from the night before at Whitmore lake, the boys got off to a slow start giving LCS a little fire on their home court. By the second quarter the boys found their legs and were able to take the lead and never looked back, with the final score ending up 64-45. Grady Hazelwood put the first 20 point game in the books for JV this season with 21 total. Gavin Eack found double digits again scoring 12 and Landon Carmody marked 11 in the book finding his way to the free throw line 5 times. The boys stand at 11 wins and 2 losses on the season. The varsity team showed a lot of grit but ended up falling to the Cougars with a score of 63-41. Standout players were Rory Eack with 11 points and 5 rebounds and Cole Scharer with 7 points and 7 rebounds.

Last Thursday the JV and varsity boys basketball teams traveled to Whitmore Lake. The JV boys added to the win column improving to 10-2 on the road. The final score was 56-49 when the buzzer rang, but it was an up and down battle all night. Landon Carmody led SC with 15 points followed by Grady Hazelwood with 13. The guys had to play tough defense and fast offense all night as Whitmore Lake outsized them and were able to out rebound SC all night. The varsity team won with a final score of 65-61. Top performers for the night were Rory Eack with 32 points, 9 rebounds, and 4 assists and Aidan Walsh with 13 points and 2 steals.

On January 17th, the lady Aggie wrestlers traveled to Birmingham Groves Individual Tournament. Winning a match on the night for the Aggies was Hailey Baker @ 115 pounds. The boys traveled to the Hudson Individual Tournament. Placing 5th for the Aggies was Tucker Hulett @ 190 pounds.
