On Tuesday, February 17, the Varsity Girls Basketball team played a home game @ North Adams. The Lady Aggies started out slow in the 1st half, but in the 2nd half they pulled away to defeat North Adams by a score of 33-24. Payton Steinke and Toree Williams led the team in scoring with 13 points and 10 points respectively. Erin Alexander led the Aggies defensively. Nice win ladies!

On Saturday, February 21st, seven Sand Creek wrestlers will be competing at MHSAA Individual Regionals at Whitmore Lake High School starting at 10:30. Tickets must be purchased on GoFan.co. The JV boys basketball team won back to back games Monday and Tuesday night beating Vandercook Lake 55-50 and Pittsford 51-30. The Aggies improved to 10-9 on the season after the double header. Damien Johnson led the Aggies against Vandercook with 4 points and 4 rebounds. Maddox Wheeler added 3 steals and Gavin Voorhees chipped in 26 points, 11 rebounds, 10 steals and 4 assists to help Johnson and Wheeler.
On Tuesday when the Aggies took on Pittsford, they were led by Gavin Voorhees with 15 points. Caden Glinski had 13 points and Alec Parker added 10 and 10 rebounds. Brennen Bates also had 7 steals and 7 assists.

Members of the SC NHS participated in a blanket making service project at Adrian High School yesterday. Sand Creek students gathered with other NHS chapters from around Lenawee county to make fleece tie blankets for donation to community organizations such as Share the Warmth and Catherine Cobb. Way to go, Aggies!

On Friday, February 13, the Varsity Girls Basketball team played an away game @ Erie-Mason. The Lady Aggies played great defense in the first half and took a 17-16 lead into halftime. The girls continued to their defensive effort in the 2nd half but struggled to score and eventually fell to Erie-Mason by a score of 39-31. Payton Steinke and Elise Wilkinson led the team in scoring with 8 points and 7 points respectively. Payton Steinke was the leading rebounder with 11. Erin Alexander had 4 assists, 7 steals, and 5 rebounds. Maddy Trame played solid defense throughout.

The varsity boys held strong to secure a victory on the last home game of the season against Vandercook Lake. Final score 69-43. The boys had an all around great night on both ends of the floor, playing very good defense and out-rebounding the Jayhawks. Gavin Eack led the Aggies with a huge night dropping 7 threes on his way to 30 points, shooting at 78% for the night. Andon Sutherland also had a big night dropping 5 threes on his way to 21 points. Sutherland also led the team in rebounds with 7. Overall this was a great team effort and an excellent display of team-oriented play. What a way to send off your seniors boys, well done!

The JV Lady Aggies earned a hard-fought conference victory Friday night, defeating Erie Mason 41–32 in a competitive matchup. The Aggies were led offensively by Macie Smith with 13 points, followed by Raelynn Steinke with 11 and Adyson Peebles adding 8. Isabella Salerno and Jacqueline Schoonover provided strong rebounding and tough defensive play throughout the game. With the win, the Aggies improve their record to 7–9 on the season.

On Thursday, February 12th, the 8th grade Lady Aggies basketball team traveled to Napoleon to compete in an away tournament. After facing a tough opening game against Napoleon, the team responded with a strong performance in game two, bringing high energy, aggressive defense, and great overall effort. The Lady Aggies made key adjustments as Lumen Christi Catholic School rotated between man-to-man and zone defensive sets. Their awareness and teamwork allowed them to stay composed and execute effectively. The Lady Aggies wrapped up the tournament showing grit and strong teamwork from start to finish. Their focus and hustle were evident throughout the game, and Grace Hassenzahl set the pace offensively as the team's leading scorer.

The entire Aggie team wrestled outstanding on Saturday at individual districts, advancing 7 boys onto regionals next Saturday at Whitmore Lake. Advancing were Nathan Bennett in 3rd, Nich Trame in 3rd, Wyatt Fox in 3rd, Tommy Shanks in 4th, AJ Murdico in 4th, Noah Walters in 3rd, and Tucker Hulett in 3rd.

The boys varsity basketball team finished up league play Thursday night against LCS. While falling short of victory the team executed very well and gave a very strong performance. Final score landed at 42-56, with the foul game being played at the end the Aggies only allowed 3 buckets in the 4th quarter aside from free throws. Leading the score was Gavin Eack with 12 points, shooting an outstanding 71% , followed by Andon Sutherland and Grady Hazelwood with 6 each. Hazelwood also led rebounds with 7. The game was not about the scoring though. The Aggies out-rebounded LCS by 10 team rebounds, a great performance on the glass. The Aggies' defense was extremely well executed and created turnovers consistently through the night. A total team effort on the defensive side is the biggest story of the night with every member on the floor giving their 1/5th to the team.

Sand Creek FFA walked away from Region II FFA Contests on Wednesday night with all participants advancing to the State Competition - we couldn't be more proud! While waiting for results, they encouraged other chapters to have some fun with them. Go Aggies!
