The varsity boys basketball season came to a heart breaking end last night in Hudson vs. Addison for the first District game. The game was back and forth all night with several lead changes and 5 to 10 point runs and swings throughout. The boys went into halftime down 2 points but came out swinging in the third to jump to a 10 point lead. The Addison Panthers stepped it up in the fourth to bring the game back to even relying heavily on the free throw line to do so. Down 1 with 25 seconds left to play Andon Sutherland was sent to the free throw line. Knocking down both shots the Aggies were up 1 with 25 seconds to play. The Panthers drew up and executed a dribble drive and were able to hit the shot to finish the game off 64-63. Cole Scharer led the score for SC with 15 points and pulled down 9 boards. Rory Eack marked 11 points in the book and grabbed 8 rebounds while Jared Snyder and Andon Sutherland each added 10 points. Aidan Walsh contributed 5 assists on the night. It was a long season marked by a tough travel schedule and an even tougher league, with 2 league opponents being ranked in the top 5 in the state. The guys played hard and overcame great adversity throughout the season and through their whole career. The basketball program thanks the seniors for their commitment to the program and the hard work they all have put in.
