Dear Sand Creek family,
Schools leaders across the nation have learned of a TikTok threat that has been rumored to be American School Shooting Day tomorrow, December 17th. Of course this threat has grown in number and spread over the last several hours. While there have been no specific threats to any Sand Creek Schools building, all building principals have been informed of this nationwide TikTok threat and local law enforcement and Michigan State Police are also aware. Michigan State Police posted this evening that they are aware of these copycat threats that are circulating nationwide on TikTok. At this time, they are unaware of any credible threats. While this appears to be another situation where social media continues to spin concerns out of control, we continue to remain on heightened guard, today, tomorrow and every day when it comes to student safety.
Families are encouraged to use this opportunity to discuss using social media responsibly. We remind students when they see posts of this nature not to reshare them, but instead to pass them on to school leaders. As always, the best people for students to seek out when they have information that can help keep our schools safe are their parents, teachers, counselors, and school administrators. Thank you for your cooperation as we work together to ensure the safest environment for our school community.
If you become aware of a school safety threat, report it to a trusted adult or confidentially at OK2SAY.com

This is Sharon Smith calling with an important announcement regarding a calendar change for our elementary building only.
This Friday, December 10th, will be a half-day of school for all Ruth McGregor Elementary students. Elementary students will be dismissed at 11:45 a.m.
A letter was sent home with each elementary student on Tuesday with the sad news that we lost a very special little Aggie this past Sunday. Funeral services for this special elementary 3rd grader will be held on Friday afternoon. In order to allow any elementary employee or student who desires to attend these services and surround this family with love and support during this very difficult time, we are making Friday a half-day of school for all elementary students. For elementary students who order lunch on Friday, the cold lunch option will be sent home with them.
Friday will be a normal full-day of school for the 6-12 building.
Thank you, and Go Aggies.
