The Sand Creek 4-year Old Preschool program will be open tomorrow April 19th.

The Sand Creek Student Government has been working on spreading positivity through the school during these hard times. Together we have hung up a bunch of inspirational quotes around the school. They decorate each student's lockers so they can see them every day when they go and get their stuff.

Spring break begins today at the half day dismissal and will run through April 11th. All offices will be closed during spring break. Classes will resume on Monday, April 12th.

May 3rd is our Decision Day celebration! We will also be hosting a breakfast celebration for our Seniors with chances to enter a raffle for prizes!! 😄 Ways to earn raffle entries: - Show us an acceptance letter from a college or proof of employment after high school - Show us that you have completed the Senior Survey (through Mrs. Scheu) - Wear a shirt on May 3rd that shows off your post-secondary plan (college, army, company) - Sing the college/military/etc fight song to us! - Fill out a notecard offering advice to underclassmen to go on a bulletin board! - Have a meeting with Ms. Rumler to discuss future plans - Ask teachers what their educational backgrounds are and report that back to us - Send us a picture of you decked out in gear of your post-secondary plans or of you and your family celebrating graduation! - Tell us about a random act of kindness you did in the month of April!

The 2020/2021 Ruth McGregor Elementary yearbooks are now on Sale. Information and order forms are going home with students this week. The cost to purchase a yearbook is $15.00. We will be having a Third Grade Reading Law Zoom parent meeting for all our 3rd grade parents hosted by Lara Baker and Ruth Benge from the Lenawee County ISD. From the Superintendent As it pertains to Sand Creek’s traditional school sponsored events, such as Prom and Senior Trip, Sand Creek Community Schools is currently unable to sponsor them due to the current MDHHS COVID-19 guidelines and restrictions and the potential legal ramifications of not adhering to them. So as it stands today, Sand Creek Community Schools cannot sponsor a high school prom or senior trip. If the MDHHS guidance changes to the point where the school can safely sponsor events like this, the school will do its best to do so. While the school wishes they could shed more hope on traditional school events such as a high school prom, they certainly don’t want to mislead anyone. We will continue to hope and pray that that the MDHHS COVID-19 guidelines and requirements for schools will loosen in time for us to be able to offer a high school prom and a senior day trip to Cedar Point or a similar venue. We know how much our upper classmen, especially our seniors, are hurting right now as it relates to the postponement and cancellation of traditional school events.
