Music class at Ruth McGregor Elementary is a fun and great way for students to express themselves musically and artistically during their school day!

We have many varied musical activities and experiences for students throughout the year.

• Our younger students learn all the ways their voice can be used and explore the basics of music through singing and dancing, as well as playing instruments such as shakers, rhythm sticks, boom whackers and drums!

• Our older students learn more complicated music theory concepts that allow them to compose and read music. This allows them to play such instruments as ukulele, recorder and xylophones.

In addition to these curriculums, we have a composer of the month series where we learn about composers from different backgrounds and time periods to give the students an introduction to music history.
