1) All Sand Creek students and families are strongly encouraged to visit the Sand Creek school website to view the Virtual Open House page. Once you’re there, you should review Wednesday night’s recorded Open House Zoom as well as visit your student’s individual teacher classrooms. There is important information under the individual teacher classrooms regarding our first day of school on Monday as well as an elementary student and parent survey that will assist our elementary teachers in setting up their classrooms. Thank you in advance for your participation.

JUNIOR/SENIOR HS FACE to FACE STUDENTS & PARENTS: It has been called to our attention that some of you may not be aware that our JH/HS faced to face students will be in school on M, Tu, Th & F’s, but not on Wednesdays. Wednesdays at the JH/HS have been designated for Virtual Education student only. Only Virtual Education students will be logging into their virtual classes on Wednesdays, and they will do so by logging into our school’s normal class schedule on this day. Face to face JH/HS students will be at home on Wednesdays, working on virtual assignments and projects assigned by their teachers in school the day before. Again, Face to face JH/HS students do not attend school on Wednesdays.

ELEMENTARY PARENTS:
The registration packets you recently picked up, inadvertently included a mental health screening form for junior high and high school students. In your packet, this form is white and it says 6-8 & 9-12 in the bottom right hand corner. Please disregard this form; it was intended for our JH/HS students only. The elementary student and the elementary parent Mental Health screening forms are PINK. All Mental Health Screening forms are optional. Students and parents are not required to complete and submit these forms. All Mental Health Screening forms submitted will be held in confidence and will be housed by our school counselors. Offering mental health screenings for students is one of many strong recommendations in the Michigan Public Schools Return to School Plan. Please contact Ms. Rumler if you have questions.

There will be a Sand Creek Music Boosters remote meeting via Zoom on Thursday, July 9 at 6:00pm. To join the Zoom meeting, parents with students in the band program should send an email request to: sandcreekmusicboosters@gmail.com After the Music Boosters receives your email request, you will be sent the information needed to join the Zoom meeting.

It is with regret that I inform you that I have postponed our commencement exercise again, this time to the weekend of July 25-26. This decision is based on the current executive orders and the survey results I received from you last week.
I am scheduling a Senior and Senior Parent Zoom meeting for next Thursday, July 9th at 6pm to share out the survey results and to discuss our plan moving forward. If the governor moves our region from Phase #4 to Phase #5, I’m confident we’ll be able to get what we want, but until then, we remain on hold with our HS commencement exercise. The Senior Zoom meeting login information will be posted to our school website by 5:30pm next Thursday.

Textbook Returns
Parents can return textbooks and school property (calculators etc.) during summer office hours which are Tuesday – Thursday 9 am – 2 pm. Parents will receive their student’s report card and potentially academic awards at that time. Textbooks and school property not returned to the school will be added to student fines.

Reminder: There will be no meal pick up tomorow Tuesday, June 30th. The summer program will resume on Tuesday, July 7 and continue through Tuesday, August 11. If you no longer need meals or would like to get registered contact Darlene McMunn at Darlene.mcmunn@sc-aggies.us.

Sand Creek Community Schools superintendent Steve Laundra will be presenting a live state of the school district update via zoom at 6pm tonight. This presentation will reveal the school district’s current plans for the 2020-21 school year, and it will be followed up by a live open forum Q & A session. For your convenience, this update will be recorded and posted to the school website and Facebook page after the live zoom presentation. Attention Aggie student-athletes...
Return to Play starts June 13! All activities will be outdoors and must practice social distancing. No exceptions! The training room, locker rooms, gym, & weight room are all off limits.
The following protocols will be in place:
1. The cleaning of surfaces & equipment must occur during workouts. Athletes must wash hands, go home and shower.
2. Workouts will be conducted using the ‘pods’. Small groups of students will stay together for the duration of the workout.
3. Coaches & athletes will be screened prior to the workout. An individual reporting symptoms or with a temperature >100.3, will not be allowed to participate and will be sent home.
4. Athletes not participating in a rigorous physical activity should wear a mask.
5. No high fives, hugs, fist bumps, or spitting should occur.
Contact your coach and/or teammates to determine team workouts and weight room activities.
