SUPERINTENDENT SEARCH
Current Superintendent, Sharon Smith, will be retiring at the conclusion of the 2025-2026 school year. The Board of Education, with the help of Michigan Association of School Boards (MASB), have begun a Superintendent search and hiring process. We will be asking the community for input and all meetings regarding this process are open to the public; we encourage parents and community members to be involved in this important process for our district.
Timeline
Monday, December 15, 2025 at 6pm in the Don Harlan Library: (included with the December Board Meeting) MASB meet with SC Board to establish firm timeline, approve salary range and job posting.

Monday, January 12, 2026 in the Don Harlan Library: MASB conducting Stakeholder Input sessions:
Administration - 12:30pm
Teaching & Support Staff - 3:15pm
Parents & Community Members - 6pm
Friday, January 16: Survey closes
Monday, January 26 at 6pm in the Don Harlan Library: (included with the January Board Meeting) MASB meet with SC Board to discuss input gathered from the community. The Board of Education will set selection criteria for applicants.
Tuesday, February 3: Posting closes
Tuesday, February 10 at 6pm in the Don Harlan Library: MASB meet with SC Board to prepare for the first round of interviews. The Board of Education selects candidates to interview.
Wednesday, February 25 at 6pm in the Don Harlan Library: MASB meet with SC Board to discuss next steps.
