Board of Education Meeting
The Sand Creek Board of Education will meet tomorrow evening at 6:00 p.m. in the Jr. High Gym. This month’s meeting will be in-person.
Jr./Sr. High School Picture Retakes
Pictures retakes for the Jr./Sr. High School are scheduled for October 23rd from 7:45 – 10:00 a.m. Any students who need to have their picture taken for the first time or would like retakes should come prepared that morning to have their picture taken. Homecoming week has been rescheduled for the week of October 26th. More details to follow.
K-12 Parent Teacher Conferences
K-12 Fall Parent-Teacher Conferences will be held on Wednesday and Thursday, November 4th and 5th. Stay tuned for how to schedule a date and time to meet with your student’s teachers.
Fall 2020 Testing Schedule:
9th graders with be given the PSAT 9 on Wednesday 21st. This test will be given in the high school gym. This test is provided digitally and students are to bring their FULLY CHARGED Chromebook and charger on the day of testing. Please arrive at the high school gym by 7:40am and testing will begin at 8am.
Virtual students will be in the gym as well, but distanced from face to face learners. Students will conclude testing around 11:30am, please have rides available or contact the school ASAP if bussing will be necessary. Contact Ms. Rumler with any questions.
Sophomores and Juniors should have received a Student Guide for the PSAT/NMSQT test coming up on October 29th. Virtual 10th and 11th graders, please pick up this student guide from the school at your convenience.
Notice to All Students in Grades 6-8
All students in grades 6-8 will be taking a math and reading/language arts assessment test this year through the NWEA assessment tool. These tests are not graded but are only used to assess where each student is regarding reading, language arts and math skills. Each 6th, 7th and 8th student, both face to face and virtual, will be taking these assessments on their school issued Chromebook.
Virtual students will be required to log into a GoogleMeet session with your classroom teacher to take the NWEA test. Each GoogleMeet session will be scheduled during your regular math and English class time, on these dates. These will be in addition to your GoogleMeet sessions that occur on Wednesday of each week.
NWEA Practice Test : Thursday, October 22
NWEA Actual Assessment Test: Monday, October 26th and Tuesday, October 27th
Elementary Halloween Information
Elementary students will not be having a Halloween parade and wearing costumes to school due to Covid-19. However, we will be encouraging students to wear orange, black or a Halloween appropriate t-shirt on Friday, October 30th. Students will be having a Halloween celebration with their individual classes. We ask that you do not send in any party food or candy for this event. Our teachers will be planning fun activities to do with your child’s individual class on Friday.
Elementary Parking Lot
We ask that you remain alert, without any distractions during arrival and dismissal. Please refrain from being on your cell phones, be mindful of your speed in the parking lot, and watch for guidance from our staff. We also ask that you remain in your lane upon exiting the parking lot and do not leave your lane after you child has exited the vehicle. Please make sure to allow space when exiting the parking lot so buses are able to enter. We appreciate your help in keeping everyone safe and helping our arrival and dismissal to be as efficient as possible.
