The Lenawee County UAW Hall property on Beecher Road in Adrian has been sold to Adrian College. Adrian College has been in close contact with Sand Creek Community Schools as it relates to our current contract to use this property as a Mass Bus Stop for many of our schools of choice students. In short, Adrian College has agreed to honor our current contract with the UAW through the remainder of this school year, and they are interested in continuing this contract for the near future. Adrian College does not have an immediate set plan for the UAW property. That stated, the day may come when this option will no longer be available to Sand Creek Community Schools. But for now, and likely for at least next school year, the college plans to continue to work with us for as long as they can.
Our UAW bus families can rest easy on this issue for now, and if for any reason the former UAW Hall is no longer going to be an option for Sand Creek, we will keep you informed and we would likely seek out another viable option for a mass bus stop on the southwest side of Adrian. We are grateful that the college would like to continue to offer us this opportunity. Approximately 120 students are picked up and dropped off at this bus stop. We have been using this property for this purpose for nearly ten years.
