Pesticide Policy
The Board of Education of the Sand Creek Community Schools recognizes the importance of maintaining the educational and aesthetic environment of all school facilities through a complete maintenance program that may require the use of pesticide. It is the intent of this policy that the health and safety of all people who use the school facilities be protected. At times this maintenance program may require the use of a pesticide. Therefore, the Board of Education has directed the Superintendent of Schools to prepare guidelines and procedures that must be in compliance with Michigan Regulation 636 - Pesticide Applicators: and Regulation 637 - Pesticide Use. If you have any questions about this policy, please feel free to contact John Hackett, Superintendent at 436-3108; Merlin Myers, Plant Management Supervisor or Glen McMunn, Pesticide Coordinator at 436-3124; Frames 263-5415; Poison Control 1-800-222-1222.

The green house is sprayed on an as need basis, which is not often. Bee or hornet nests may also be treated on an as need basis. Indoor treatments are normal for ant, fly, or mouse control in the kitchen, locker room or storage areas.
Outdoor treatments are for grass, broadleaf, and weed control along fence lines, under bleacher, baseball and softball infields. Treatments may also be made on yards for broadleaf weed control.
If you wish to be notified by mail three (3) days prior to an application, contact Glen McMunn at 436-3124.
