Don M. Harlan devoted thirty-five years of his life to Sand Creek Community Schools. With diploma in hand from Adrian College, he began his career at Sand Creek in 1955. Don was employed as a teacher of English, social studies, and driver's education, and eventually advanced to the position of Superintendent of Schools. Mr. Harlan retired from Sand Creek in 1990, having served as our chief administrator for twenty-five years. Don always put students first and he truly loved the community of Sand Creek, and upon passing, left a generous monetary contribution to our school district. The Sand Creek Board of Education, in August of 2002, named its new high school library in his memory. Don Harlan will forever be remembered as an outstanding school leader and a dedicated servant of the Sand Creek Community Schools. |
